The Republican National Committee has openings for Interns for the 2024 Republican National Convention.
OVERVIEW:
The Committee on Arrangements (“COA”) plans for and manages the Republican National Convention. The 2024 Republican National Convention will be a blockbuster, four-day event that will be broadcast across the world. Upwards of 50,000 guests, including the delegates who will nominate the next President and Vice President of the United States, will come to Milwaukee for the Convention.
If you are ready to kickstart your career in the political arena and build real-world experience, an internship with the COA is for you! Interns at the COA’s Milwaukee, WI headquarters are an integral part of the team. The COA has a place for all skill sets! Internships are available in the following departments:
- Administration: Work alongside staff responsible for coordinating daily operational functions, streamlining management systems, maintaining business efficiency, and overseeing human capital development.
- Communications: Work alongside staff responsible for media engagement and external messaging from the COA, including strategic messaging, print media, radio-television bookings, social media, digital content, and events.
- Community Relations: Work alongside staff to advance the collaborative initiatives of the Convention and nurture relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations in the Milwaukee region.
- Delegate Experience: Work alongside staff responsible for directly serving the delegates attending the Convention.
- External Affairs: Work alongside staff serving as the point of contact for elected officials, foreign diplomats, volunteers, stakeholders, and other external groups participating in the Convention.
- Hotels & Venues: Work alongside staff responsible for the management of all COA hotel blocks, Official Convention Venues, and partner venues.
- Legal: Work alongside staff responsible for legal and administrative procedures and assist with research and tasks related to Convention committees, RNC rules, contract negotiation, and all other legal operations.
- Media Operations: Work alongside staff responsible for directing all operational and logistical planning for traditional and digital media organizations attending the Convention.
- Operations & Production: Work alongside staff responsible for the oversight of all operational, technical, and infrastructure support for the Convention.
- Security: Work alongside staff responsible for the overall security plans for the COA office space, Baird Center, Fiserv Forum, and any additional footprints associated with the Convention.
- Transportation: Work alongside staff responsible for implementing a comprehensive transportation plan for the Convention, and in support of all supplemental events.
Applicant Preferred Skills:
- Organized, professional, able to work with deadlines, possess great communication skills, able to handle stressful situations, detail-oriented, and able to integrate multiple tasks and see them through to successful fruition.
- Must have a positive attitude, be a team player, be willing to work long hours, and be able to successfully navigate demanding situations.
- Extremely dedicated, confident, and comfortable representing their assigned department to guests and staff in meetings and at official events. Interns must provide five-star customer service to all stakeholders.
Qualifications for interested applicants:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate collegiate program, with preference given to juniors and seniors.
- Available to work full-time in-person in Milwaukee, WI beginning Thursday, June 6, 2024, and ending Sunday, July 21, 2024.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Open to all majors.
- Registered Republican voter.

The COA Internship Program is a structured, full-time, unpaid internship, and positions are limited.
The COA Internship Program begins Thursday, June 6, 2024 and concludes Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Hours of business are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (days and hours subject to change at the discretion of COA or intern supervisors).
*Dormitory style housing will be provided by the COA.
