If Gov. Lamont signs HB-5002, it will change Greenwich FOREVER.

Just as we warned you, Hartford Democrats have passed the egregious bill HB-5002 and sent it to Gov. Lamont for his signature. 

This leviathan housing bill "takes every idea proposed by every developer lobbyist & shoved it into one giant, internally conflicting bill that makes no sense & has very bad consequences," warns CT169Strong, a pro-Connecticut grassroots organization that has been fighting this devastating power grab every step of the way.

If Gov. Lamont signs HB-5002 into law, Hartford Democrats and their developer backers will be unchained to run roughshod over towns' rights to zone and govern themselves. Central planners will trample our zoning laws, cram character-destroying high-rises into our neighborhoods, even force us to allow homeless people to sleep on benches and tables intended for the public to enjoy, among other horrible initiatives.

Thank you to Sens. Ryan Fazio and Tina Courpas for doing everything in your power to prevent this abomination from passing through the Connecticut State Legislature.

No thanks to Reps. Steven Meskers and Hector Arzenio for doing nothing to stop it. Don't think Greenwich voters don't realize Connecticut Democrats gave you a "hall pass" to vote against HB-5002 because they didn't need your votes to pass it.
