She's in! Greenwich Town Clerk Jackie Budkins announces re-election bid.
Third-generation Greenwich native Jackie Budkins announced in a Friday press release that she's running for a third term as our Town Clerk.
Jackie was first elected to the position in 2021, succeeding her mother, Carmella, in the role. Carmella made town history by becoming the first woman ever to hold the position, in which she served us for 30 years. At the same time, Jackie's father, John, served 18 years on our RTM. Jackie grew up steeped in a solid tradition of town service.
Jackie, a Certified Connecticut Town Clerk, has made modernization of the Town Clerk's Office the centerpiece of her administration. She implemented an online dog licensing and renewal service, introduced a free Property Alert System that allows residents to monitor and be informed of any amendments to their property records, integrated state-of-the-art voting technology to our Representative Town Meeting, and successfully executed several timely and compliant local, state, and national elections.
"Serving as your Town Clerk has been a privilege, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together," writes Jackie in her announcement. "But there is more to do. If re-elected, I will continue building on this foundation, pursuing smart innovations and maintaining the high standard of service Greenwich deserves. I’m grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me, and I respectfully ask for your continued support as we move forward."
We're excited to hear Jackie will continue to serve and look forward to supporting her campaign and voting for her on Nov. 4!
