Because no Town offices are on the ballot this November, some may view the election as being driven primarily by statewide and national issues. But decisions made in Hartford directly affect Greenwich — making the balance of power in the General Assembly one of our most important local concerns.
Democrats hold 25 of 36 Senate seats and 102 of 151 House seats — one seat above the two-thirds needed to override a governor’s veto. If that lock survives November, they keep the override whether or not Ryan Fazio wins the governorship. Ending the supermajority is not enough. We have to erode the majority. Hartford does not turn around while Democrats still run it.

Most states with mail-in ballots match the signature on the return envelope to the signature on file. Thirty-two states plus Puerto Rico do that. Connecticut does not. Officials check that the inner envelope is signed. They do not match it to the registration record, nor to the absentee application.
In 2026 the Democrat Supermajority passed no-excuse absentee voting. Senate Republicans offered amendments to add verification. Every amendment failed 25–11 on a party-line vote. Fazio and Courpas kept the promise. Arzeno and Meskers voted with the majority that expanded the system and rejected the check. If you expand mail ballots, you tighten the chain of custody. Hartford did the opposite.

Fazio v. Lamont — First Gubernatorial Debate
Live on WFSB Channel 3 and streaming on CT Insider. One hour from the WFSB studios in Rocky Hill. Fazio asked for six debates. Lamont agreed to two — both after early voting starts.
