Last night, the Greenwich Republicans (RTC) nominated a slate of candidates for the upcoming municipal election, backed with a strong commitment to propel the candidates to a November victory.

“Greenwich Republicans were united in endorsing a unanimous ballot up and down of candidates with a shared mission for Greenwich’s future; united by our love for freedom, family, faith, and prosperity”, said Chair Beth MacGillivray. “

“The upcoming election presents a vital opportunity for Republicans to counter a web of lies spun by Democrats, who claim Republicans do not support education and school construction, which is utterly false. Our First Selectmen and Board of Estimation and Taxation (BET) have put forward $112 million, the largest capital budget for schools in the town’s history. We will shine the light of truth and stand firm against their deceitful tactics”, MacGillivray said.

The Greenwich Republicans envision a town that works for everyone, irrespective of public or private schooling, family history or economic means. The aim is to create a welcoming home for all races, colors, and backgrounds, and to responsibly modernize infrastructure while preserving the town’s historic character.

“We have a diverse and inclusive group of candidates,” states Jane Sprung, Vice Chair.

Joe Montanaro, Vice Chair, says, “We look to our Republican BET as a unit of selfless, positive, hard-workers who believe in teamwork and will stand against agendas aimed at crippling our resident taxpayers. We have assembled this team; David Alfano and Lucia Delvalle Jansen, joined by incumbents Nisha Arora, Karen Fassuliotis, Harry Fisher and Leslie Tarkington.  We all look forward to working together for the greater good. We also unanimously endorsed our exemplary BoE candidates, Adele Caroll, incumbent Karen Kowalski, Richard Niemynski and Wendy Vizzo Walsh.”

“At the top of the ticket, we have the incumbents; First Selectman Fred Camillo leading the charge with Selectwoman Lauren Rabin, Tax Collector Heather Smeriglio and Town Clerk Jackie Budkins” added Montanaro.

Also running for important positions are:

Board of Assessment Appeals; Kit Mill, Mark Pruner and Jeff Reardon (all incumbents)
Constables; Donna Malone and Charles Edward Thivierge Jr. (incumbents) as well as candidates Dan Sinisi and Tom Waurishuk.

The Greenwich Republicans emphasized the significance of winning big in November to bring their vision to reality. “I urge all of you to get involved, work hard to overcome the web of lies, and let our vision be known,” concluded MacGillivray.

Under Republican Leadership, Greenwich is the premier town to live, work, raise a family and retire. Designated number one in safety, Greenwich is an age-friendly community with the lowest mill rate in CT.  Greenwich Republicans are steadfast in our commitment to serving the Town of Greenwich. We invite all residents to support our candidates and to join them in shaping a prosperous and inclusive future.
